Tuan Vo-Dinh, a pioneer in the field of photonics at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has joined the department of biomedical engineering at Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering, where he will serve as director of the Fitzpatrick Institute for Photonics.

A top scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory is leaving to direct a new research institute at Duke University.
Tuan Vo-Dinh, one of the most honored researchers at the Department of Energy facility since his arrival in 1977, will lead Duke's Fitzpatrick Institute for Photonics. He also will be a professor of biomedical engineering, effective March 2.
